Should I Try 30 Day Writing Challenge?

UGH.

It’s already 3 in the morning and I haven’t started a single blog post yet. I just kept on starting a sentence and deleting after staring at it for half an hour. I started at 10 btw.

WHY.

I have myriads of topics in mind but I couldn’t even find time to write them.

WHY.

I have thousands of great experiences I wanna share but couldn’t find the right words and title for each one.

WHY.

I have almost dozens of drafts patiently waiting to be publish but I couldn’t finish.

WHY.

I’ve been trying to write for days now but it seems that I couldn’t.

WHY?

I am not a writer. I never imagined myself being one. I used to. But I’m not good at expressing them. I always struggle for words, I have so much things flowing in mind but I find it difficult to concisely find the right words to express myself, my idea, and my emotions until the wind blow them away and I canΒ  no longer catch them.

So today, before the wind blow this idea away, I will challenge myself to try the 30 day writing challenge. I will not have a daily what-to-write-schedule, I’ll just write whatever comes to my mind, it might be an ant passing by, a sweet smile a stranger gave me, a celebrity I’ve seen or an alien dropping by to say hi. I know this idea sounds impossible (due to work schedule) but I will give it a shot.

So I guess this is it. My first day of challenge starts later. πŸ˜€

Bored Sensei.

P.S If you have any tips and suggestions, it would be very helpful. Pwede din magrequest ng topic (yung kaya ko lang lol).

  1. Here’s an idea:

Grab a dictionary (or search one on Google) and find a word that interests you. Pick any word that catches your attention, say, “sibilance.” Then go write about it.

Write about the fact that you don’t know what it means. Or if you do, do you remember where you heard it first? Say the word out loud and describe its sound. Sibilance, sibilance, sibilance. It swings to a rhythm, doesn’t it? Do you like the sound? Does it remind you of anything, like a swing or a song, maybe?

Write about the movement of your lips, your tongue, and your teeth when you say it. Write about other words that come to mind: civil, Sybil, bilbil. List these words down and pair them up: civil sibilance, the Sibilance of Sybil, a sibilant bilbil. It’s okay even if they don’t make sense; poetry is often born out of words or thoughts or feelings that don’t make sense. Choz!

But charotismo aside, just keep writing even if you end up talking about baby fats or cellulite. Stop only when you reach 500 words. Do the revisions a few days later and once you’re satisfied, call it “Sibilance” and hit publish — we’ll all be happy to read it.

    1. hi Jenny! yung bugay working student, I can’t commit since wala ako kilala working student here πŸ˜‚ but I’ll try, but then sa β€œThings you should know about Japanese” I could try but it would be on my perspective as a teacher working here πŸ˜‚ medyo limited ang info kasi students are different inside and outside school. Pero I’ll work on that. Salamat sa requests ☺️😘

      1. I’ve just been busy with work. I get home at 11 pm na rin so I’m already short of energy when I get home. As for my new blog, ewan ko, parang bigla na lang di ko na feel yung site title ko kaya gumawa ako nang bago. Pinag-isipan ko naman mabuti tung title ko so I’m sure last na to, ☻
